The Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative’s Food n’ Friends program has two local Family Cafés, specifically designed to be welcoming to children and accessible to families in need. Second Congregational Church hosts one of these cafés on the 2nd Wednesday of each month where we serve dinner at 5:30 pm.
The Family Café offers a free dinner for families of all sizes who need help stretching their food budget in a child friendly atmosphere and offers fun activities for the children. All families are welcome and all adults must be accompanied by a child 18 years old or younger.
Access to community and local and state resources are also available at the Food n’ Friends Family Café with a resource worker present to aid families in identifying their needs and connecting them to appropriate resources that may help them. The Family Café has also been able to offer donated hats, mittens, and coats to those in need as well as supply books to the children.
This program is made possible by the numerous volunteers responsible for setting up the dinner, cooking the meal, cleaning up, and doing the dishes, pots and pans as well as many other things.
Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
Please note: The Family Café program is temporarily suspended.
