Jack and Jill Pre-SchoolWe have programs for children from 2 years 9 months to five years old, an exciting curriculum, and an excellent staff! Contact Ann Haskel for more information, 508-222-1149. Since its establishment in 1948, Jack and Jill School has continually modified its program to provide high quality early childhood education for the young children of the Attleboro area. Founded by Althea Morris and four other women of the Second Congregational Church membership, the school originally offered daily kindergarten. The school has maintained its long history of quality early childhood care and education. The school's role as an advocate for and provider of quality programming has earned the respect of the public school community. Jack and Jill is recognized for carrying out its mission by preparing children for kindergarten and elementary education and identifying children with special needs. The school is a member of Project Connect, a state-funded grant program administered by the Attleboro Public Schools. As a member, Jack and Jill has been awarded over $8,000 in grants to be used to purchase educational materials and to improve its facilities. These have included playground equipment, classroom furniture, computer equipment, and yearly basic supplies of paper, paint, and other materials. Although societal needs for child care have changed and evolved, Jack and Jill has made a conscious decision to remain as a traditional preschool, serving families who are seeking a part-time, social/ educational/structured school experience for their children as opposed to day care. To carry out its mission and assure its continued operation and role as a highly respected community preschool, Jack and Jill continues to assess its programs and to modify its operations to meet the challenges of each new generation of children. Director Ann Haskel is available to answer questions; you may reach her at the school at 508-222-1149. |
