The staff at Second Church comes from a diverse background and provides equally varied resources to the church and community. The collegial atmosphere is an essential ingredient in our creative approach to proclaiming the Gospel.

Before serving Second Congregational Church beginning in July of 2008, Rev. F. Vernon Wright served Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC in Helena MT, for seven years. He served on the Montana Northern Wyoming conference of the national Synod for the United Church of Christ, the board of directors for Intermountain Children's home and was the director and founder of the Progressive Clergy Alliance. He is passionate about the path of the loving divine as revealed in Christ. Much of his ministry has been about social justice, the empowerment of communities and individuals. He has a BA of Religous Studies from University of Colorado and Masters of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. Things he enjoys most about ministry are teaching, visiting, preaching, and contemplative prayer. His interests include sailing, nordic skiing, world religions, writing and running. He is married to Kat Wright and together they have three children Owen, River and Brynn.

Music is an integral part of the life of Second Church and spans a wide spectrum of styles and genres. This is demonstrated by the dedicated members of our chancel choir, sacred dance groups, handbell choir, and children's choir regularly. We also host occasional concerts featuring a variety of artists. Our Music Committee guides the creation of each program. Our Director of Music, Bill MacPherson, conducts the ministry with skill and spirit.

Fred Saunders, our Interim Administrative Assistant, coordinates use of the building, and in general provides critical supportive information during staff meetings and interacting with the many people who move through our facility each day. Our custodial team keeps the building in smooth operating form for every occasion.

Our 57-year relationship with Jack and Jill preschool provides a valued opportunity to support the development of the young people of Attleboro. We look forward to building on and enhancing this cooperative venture for many years to come. Director Kara Lehane is available year-round to answer questions about enrollment in the school's excellent programs.
