Outreach and Missions

Outreach and Missions mobilizes volunteer and financial support from our congregation to promote charitable causes in the spirit of Christian love at the local, regional, and international level.

The tithing of the pledges of our church makes it possible for us to support local organizations such as the Attleboro Area Council of Churches, Old Colony Habitat for Humanity, the Homeless Coalition, Attleboro Area Community Council, Boston Fisher House (an organization that builds houses close to Veterans Hospitals to provide a comfortable place for families to stay while visiting their soldiers in the hospitals),and international organizations such as Heifer International, Church World Services, and Holy Joe's Cafe (an organization providing morale support for soldiers overseas).

We also endeavor to work together through volunteer action both near and far to help our neighbors in need. Our church's Food Pantry provides a wonderful bag of food to anyone in need in the Attleboro community the fourth Monday of every month. We have made meals supporting Food'n Friends program, donated Christmas stockings to children in need, sent letters and packages to soldiers overseas, and even landscaped a Habitat for Humanity house. Our church runs the local SERVE program which provides healthy, fresh, affordable food to anyone that volunteers only 2 hours of their time in the community. And last summer our church sent a group to Alderson, West Virginia on a mission trip to build homes for those in need.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Create a budget and disperse funds appropriately
  • Coordinate the special offerings such as Neighbors in Need, One Great Hour of Sharing, Blanket and Tools, Veterans of the Cross, 30 Hour Famine
  • Keep the congregation informed and solicit their help with various projects via the Voice, the church bulletin boards, and having someone speak from the pulpit.
  • Assist with other church groups' mission concerns

Our church is a caring church that truly tries to reach out and help our neighbors both near and far.
