Our Mission

Second Church is a pilgrim type, congregationally governed parish affiliated with the United Church of Christ. We are united by a covenant, not a creed. We seek to walk the ways of Christ in spiritual freedom and in social responsibility.

We are an inner city church with strong outreach programs, locally and worldwide. Our congregation is made up of active participating members in a full range of age groups. Our music department is appreciated throughout the area, and draws strong local participation. Our Christian Education Department and our Jack & Jill weekday preschool are the best anywhere. Our ministers and staff oversee a vital Christian ministry for children, youth and adults.

Sunday worship, Bible and mid-week studies, pastoral and marriage counseling, and spiritual growth groups are directed by our pastors and our competent and friendly staff of hard working volunteers.
