Bill MacPherson

Bill MacPherson has held church music positions since his early teens, including a previous stint at Second Church from 1986 to 1994. He was educated at Brown University (A.B., Chemistry) where he studied organ with Prof. William Dinneen and accompanied the University Chorus. His graduate degrees (A.M., Ph.D., Musicology) are from Harvard. He is on the music faculties of the Community College of Rhode Island and Wheaton College, where he teaches music history and theory and serves as staff accompanist. He is organist for high holidays and other special events at Temple Emanuel, Providence. He was also the long-time accompanist of the Providence Singers and classical music reviewer for the Worcester Telegram. He lives in Attleboro and is father to two college-age daughters.
